Welcome to Polish the Queen, the unhinged amateur drag competition where wig fly, crowds scream, judges judge, and at the end of the night... one queen gets polished into greatness.
Think you've got what it takes?
Here's everything you need to know before stepping into the neon ring.
DM the @PolishTheQueen Instagram or speak to our host at G Lounge to secure your slot. We book queens, kings, in-betweens, creatures, club kids, and chaotic icons.
Requirements:
Zero fear
One performance number
Ability to thrive in chaos
Not required:
Experience
Perfect makeup
Emotional stability
Bring one showstopping performance:
-Lip sync
-Dance
-Comedy
-Avant-garde nonsense
-Live singing
-Or whatever unhinged fever dream you can perform in 3-4 minutes
Music:
Send your track via email or Google Drive link 24 hours before the show. No last minute AirDropping backstage while crying. It's happened. It won't work.
This is Chelsea democracy at its finest.
For every drink purchased, your supporters get one vote.
Yes, this means you should bring friends.
Yes, this means bribery is allowed.
Yes, this means the bar loves you.
Voters + judges' scores = total score
The crowd can carry you... or sink you.
After all competitors have performed and votes are tallied, the top queens return for:
THE CHAOS ROUND.
A speed lip sync, surprise category, audience challenge, or anything the host feels like throwing at you.
Flexibility = success.
Panic = the full Polish the Queen experience.
Winners receive:
Bragging rights
Social media glory
High-quality photos (sometimes)
A literal crown... jk.
This is your stepping stone into bigger stages in NYC nightlife.
More importantly, it's where you get to show up, show out, and be absolutely unhinged in a safe, cheering room full of queers who love drag.
Show up. Show off. Shock us.
Chelsea is watching.
